The report highlights the following: * In the last 12 months, a surge of cross-border M & A activity in China and European energy companies. * China's main objective is to acquire non-performing assets of clean energy in Europe. The survey 39 percent of Chinese respondents are considering the acquisition of the established European equipment manufacturers, more than doubled last year's figures. * Compared with North America, China is now more inclined to invest in Europe. 80 percent of Chinese respondents are considering the future of Europe 18 months for investment and / or acquisitions. * China's supply chain gap prompted Europe to China market expansion.
The survey and report were written in collaboration with Clean Energy pipeline, a specialist provider of clean energy news, data and research. Transaction data has been extracted directly from Clean Energy pipeline’s deal databases. Clean Energy pipeline is a division of VB/Research. The survey was conducted in Autumn 2012 and was completed by five types of respondents: corporates, investors, debt providers, service providers and government agencies.
